The Town of Victoria Park Transport Strategy and Parking Management Plan

In 2021 WSP approached Australian Parking Consultants (APC) to collaborate in the delivery of a project for the Town of Victoria Park in Western Australia.

The project consisted of two components, an Integrated Transport Strategy delivered by WSP, and a Parking Management Plan developed by APC.

A unique Parking Intervention Matrix in the Parking Management Plan provides a

consistent approach for determining parking solutions for local governments.

Starting with a parking trigger, the matrix uses best practice and proven thresholds

for determining when changes are required to be implemented. This enables Council's

to have consistent implementation of parking management.

Queen Victoria Market (Melbourne)

Beginning back in 2020, APC has worked together with Queen Victoria Market Pty Ltd (QVMPL) with the expantion of their new Monroe site also known as Q4 precinct. This has included developing a comprehensive design, incorporating access control, precinct guidance, parking guidance and loading dock management systems. In addition, APC have assisted with the procurement, mobilisation, installation, commissioning and defects liability processes.

The technology platforms include:
• Access control of the Munro Street car park (Munro).
• Parking guidance in Munro.
• Precinct guidance of the QVM site.
• Loading dock traffic management system.
• Redesign and equipment reconfiguration of the existing at-grade car park.

This project is now in its final stage and is expected to be completed early 2022.

Parks Victoria

More than 100 million people visit the parks and reserves annually, and increased visitation is placing pressure on visitor facilities and park environments, including many car parking areas which regularly fill and are overcrowded.
Parks Victoria (PV) is undertaking a thorough assessment of the feasibility, financial viability, of introducing paid parking as a measure of controlling demand to ensure the sustainability of a number of these parking assets.

Parks Victoria engaged Australian Parking Consultants (APC) to undertake a more detailed assessment

of the shortlisted portfolio and recommend suitable operating models and technology platforms as well

as provide a robust financial analysis for each location.
